From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Taylor Swift wasn’t the first popstar to work with Kendrick Lamar. Back in 2012, while writing good kid, m.A.A.d. city, not only were Drake, Dr. Dre and Pharrell in the studio but also the crazy queen of pop, Lady Gaga.

What followed was “PARTYNAUSEOUS”, a low-fi rap track with Gaga on hook. However, due to "creative differences" between the two camps, Kendrick's track never saw the light of day.

Gaga went on to create a high-octane Euro-pop track out of the remnants of her part, playing it as an interlude on her ARTPOP tour. When Kendrick's To Pimp A Butterfly came out earlier this year many expected the track to feature on it but this was unfounded.

Now, thanks to internet pirates, Kendrick’s version has finally leaked online, fully intact. Listen below before it goes.

It's still unclear whether the track is the final version or a demo, but judging by Gaga's vocals it doesn't sound like a final take.

Now that you've heard how the song was originally suppose to sound, here's the Lady Gaga 'remix'. It's... different.

Kendrick recently featured in Taylor Swifts music video for Bad Blood, a reworking of the 1989 album track with the "King Kunta" rapper doing two guest verses.
