Sam Smith and Kasabian are also up for awards at the 22 October ceremony

Your support makes all the difference.Kate Bush’s long-awaited comeback has earned her two nominations at this year’s Q Awards, including one for best live act.
The “Running Up That Hill” singer returned to the stage at London’s Hammersmith Apollo to five star reviews last month. It had been 35 years since her last tour.
In the wake of her reignited success, Bush has also been shortlisted for best act in the world today, alongside Arcade Fire, Pharrell Williams, Kasabian and Arctic Monkeys.
She was ineligible for the live award previously, having seemingly retired from touring after her only real series of shows in 1979.
Bush made history last week when she became the first female performer to score eight albums in the Official UK Albums Chart at the same time. Eleven of her albums re-entered the Top 100 following her London gigs.
Kasabian leads the Q awards race with four nods ahead of the ceremony on 22 October. Readers of Q magazine determine the winners by voting online.
Newcomer Sam Smith is favourite for best newcomer, while Paolo Nutini is competing with Ed Sheeran and Jake Bugg for best solo artist.
“We’ve had the surprise and brilliance of Kate Bush’s return alongside the excitement and invention delivered by all the nominees in the best new act category,” said Matt Mason, Q’s senior editor.
