From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Kanye West has announced when his forthcoming album will be released.

Fans were alerted to the arrival of the new album on Saturday (18 July) when the rapper tweeted a 20-song tracklist, which he then deleted. It featured West’s recent single with Travis Scott, “Wash Us In The Blood”.

West has now shared a new tracklist on Twitter, accompanied by the caption: “DONDA coming this Friday.”

The new post features 12 songs, which appear to be different from the titles that West initially shared over the weekend.

The new tracklist for DONDA does not feature his newly-released single “Wash Us in the Blood”. It does feature a song called “God’s Country”, and another titled “In God’s Country”.

God’s Country is the name the controversial rapper originally said his forthcoming album would be could.

This is not the first time West has changed the title of an album ahead of its release. Previous titles for his 2016 album, Life of Pablo. were SWISH and Waves.

DONDA‘s tracklist also features “New Body”, a song that was originally set to appear on West’s previous album before it was dropped.

This new LP will follow his most recent studio album, Jesus is King, which landed in October last year after numerous delays.

News of DONDA arrives as West has been rolling out his presidential campaign. The rapper announced his run for office on 4 July. However, he has already missed the deadline to run as an independent in several states.

During his first campaign rally in South Carolina on Sunday (19 July), the rapper told crowds that he and his wife Kim Kardashian had considered not having their first daughter North as part of a discussion about abortion.

West, who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, also claimed that abolitionist Harriet Tubman did not free slaves, but instead “she just had the slaves go work for other white people”.

Celebrities, including 50 Cent, Katy Perry and will.i.am, have criticised his run for office.
