From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Late last night in Los Angeles, Kanye West appeared at a low-key listening party with only a couple of hundred fans present, playing some The Life of Pablo cuts as well as debuting “Closest Thing to Einstein”.

On the Sampha featuring track, Mr West references numerous recent events, including his financial situation, Twitter spats and being this generation's Einstein.

Footage of the rapper bobbing to the track has since appeared online, which you can watch below.

Standout lyrics (via Noisy) include: "People trying to say I'm going too crazy on Twitter / My friends best advice was to stay low”

“At this rate we gonna both die broke / Got friends that ask for money knowing I'm in debt”

“This generation's closest thing to Einstein / So don't worry about me, I'm fine”

Recently, the Steve McQueen-directed music video of “All Day” leaked online, while it was also revealed his latest album The Life of Pablo has not charted due to only being available on TIDAL.
