From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Kaiser Chiefs have been confirmed to headline an Eden Session in Cornwall on Saturday 29 June 2013.

They join comedian Eddie Izzard, who plays on Monday 3 June, and The xx, who play on Tuesday 2 July, on next summer’s line-up at the Eden Project with more acts to be announced soon.

Kaiser Chiefs return to the Eden Sessions as curators and headliners for a day of live music at the home of the Biomes. The band will hand-pick special guests and exciting emerging artists to play across the Eden site alongside other non-musical surprises.

The Leeds lads are no strangers to Eden, having played to a sell-out crowd at the Sessions in 2008.

Kaiser Chiefs are stalwarts of the British indie rock scene with all four of their studio albums charting in the top ten, and their 2005 debut Employment selling two million copies.

Their quiver of recognisable singles is on a par with any of their contemporaries and songs such as "Ruby", "I Predict a Riot", "Oh My God" and "Never Miss a Beat" are an integral part of the modern British soundtrack.

This year has seen the band undertake their biggest UK tour to date, with appearances at the Reading and Leeds Festivals and T in the Park, as well as performing at the Coachella Festival in California.

Announced as a Sessions headliner earlier this year, Eddie Izzard will be bringing his Force Majeure show to the home of the Biomes on 3 June 2013.
