Nick Jonas swore to his sibling Kevin that the Jonas Brothers are still a band in his opening monologue on Saturday Night Live.

Nick performed double duty on Saturday (27 February) as both host and musical guest.

As he delivered his monologue, the camera turned to his older brother Kevin, who was sitting in the audience.

Kevin took this as an occasion to ask Nick whether the Jonas Brothers, the pop-rock trio they formed with their sibling Joe, are still together, given Nick’s numerous solo projects.

“I’ve got to ask,” Kevin said. “Are we good? Because I see you’re doing a lot of solo stuff. Are we still a band?”

“Of course,” Nick replied, to which his brother followed up with: “Are you sure? Because I just bought a house.”

“The band is still together,” Nick stated. “I promise.”

The Jonas Brothers released their most recent album together, Happiness Begins, in 2019, ending a 10-year hiatus. Prior to that, their latest release (and their fourth studio album overall), came out in 2009.

Nick Jonas recently unveiled a new solo single, “Spaceman”, which he performed on SNL. A solo album with the same name will follow on 12 March 2021. It will be Nick’s fourth studio album overall.

In addition to those, Nick has pursued separate projects as a coach on The Voice and as an actor.
