From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall kept herself entertained during coronavirus lockdown by expertly recreating a heavily memed scene from Come Dine With Me.

The “Break Up Song” singer performed her own version of the now legendary clip, playing each of the four contestants with multiple wig and outfit changes.

Thirlwall lip syncs along with the speech, which sees an angry Peter Marsh, who came fourth in the 2016 episode, tell his fellow contestant: “You won, Jane. Enjoy the money, I hope it makes you very happy. Dear lord, what a sad little life, Jane.

“You ruined my night completely so you could have the money, but I hope now you can spend it on lessons in grace and decorum. Because you have all the grace of a reversing dump truck without any tyres on.”

Sharing the clip on Instagram, Thirlwall captioned the video: “what a sad little life Jane. #comedinewithme.”

It comes as Litte Mix were forced to cancel their upcoming UK summer tour due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“The health and safety of all our fans is always our number one priority,” they wrote.

“Please stay safe and stay home, lots of love, the girls x.”
