Iggy Azalea has condemned her ex Playboi Carti for allegedly skipping Christmas with their newborn son to release an album.

While Playboi Carti’s new record Whole Lotta Red was released on streaming services today (25 December), his ex Azalea claimed that he had cancelled their Christmas plans with their newborn son Onyx.

“I would never decide to do something of my own free will that meant missing a milestone moment with my son and if you do you’re trash,” Azalea tweeted on Christmas morning.

Hours later, Azalea added more context to her initial tweet.

“Too bad you got an album out but can’t even come to Christmas with your own son,” Azalea declared.

Azalea went on to claim that Carti had planned a “family vacation” with her and Onyx 48 hours prior to cancelling. She also said that he was initially hesitant to publicise the incident as she assumed she would face a backlash on social media.

“I’ve not said anything (and could say much more) for the longest time because I know the net won’t side with me and that I’m hated,” Azalea wrote. “But Christmas? … I’ve covered for so long hoping you’d do better. A lot of women relate.”

“At a certain point when someone just taking advantage like CRAZY airing it out is all you can do [sic],” Azalea concluded. “Night.”

Carti and the “Fancy” rapper became a couple in 2018, before splitting this year. In October, Azalea confirmed the pair had broken up, but that they would continue to amicably co-parent their son.

"Onyx is so so loved by his dad and has always had both parents in his life from day one,” Azalea tweeted.

Whole Lotta Red, released today, is Carti’s second studio album, and features collaborations with Kanye West, Future and Kid Cudi.
