Ice Cube complains people are ‘mad’ at him for working with Trump: ‘Let me get this straight’

Your support makes all the difference.Ice Cube appears to have had enough of the backlash caused by the revelation that he worked with US president Donald Trump on a plan to help the black community.
The rapper posted a tweet on Thursday 6 November amid tension surrounding the US election results.
“Let me get this straight, I get the president of the United States to agree to put over half a trillion dollars of capital in the Black Community (without an endorsement) and n****s are mad at me?” he tweeted.
“Have a nice life,” he concluded, posting three cry-laughing face emojis.
However, Ice Cube then received criticism for complaining about the reaction, including from some who were unconvinced about what he claimed to have achieved.
“No. We’re mad at you because everything you think you 'got,' was fairy dust,” Democratic candidate Pam Keith, who was defeated in the race for Florida’s 18th congressional district by Republican Brian Mast, said.
“And in the attempt, you validated a racist monster and got him votes. You were used as a political prop to masterful effect. Trump doesn’t keep his promises to ANYONE! Most especially not us.”
“The problem is you actually thought you got Trump to agree to anything, when his base think people that look like you are the problem,” another person replied.
Another said: “All money isn't good money. We can do it another way. We don't need the White man to bail us out. We just gotta come together as the entire black community and figure it out on our own.”
“No, actually you allowed the POTUS (a notorious habitual liar and obvious racist who condones white supremacy) to lie to you about plans that we all know he'd never implement,” another tweeted. “And then you tried to pass his gaslighting and manipulation on to us. This is why we're ‘mad’ at you.”
Ice Cube was recently mocked as a result of the controversy on Saturday Night Live’s Halloween episode, which starred Jim Carrey as Joe Biden, Kate McKinnon as Hillary Clinton, and Ice Cube played by castmember Kenan Thompson.
Ice Cube responded by tweeting: “F*** you SNL. Trying to reduce me to greed.”
He confirmed he had held discussions with Trump in October, and posted a video in which he praised the president’s “Platinum Plan” to invest $500bn in black communities.
While many took this to be an endorsement for a second Trump presidency, Ice Cube said he was not endorsing Trump or his rival Joe Biden. Instead, he claimed both parties had reached out, but Trump’s team was the one who invited further discussions.
