From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Pop princess Kylie Minogue chose the dance capital of the world to launch her "euphoric" new album.

Wearing a white Grecian dress, the 42-year-old held a press conference last night at Amante Beach Club in Ibiza, Spain, to promote her 11th studio album Aphrodite.

The record, which is named after the Greek goddess of love, features dance track All The Lovers, which will be the first song released from the album.

The upbeat single was due to be put on sale on June 28 but her record bosses at struggling EMI, which owns her label Parlophone, decided to bring the download release forward to June 13 because of "overwhelming public demand".

The Australian songbird said: "The single was one of the last tracks to be written for the album. As I was recording it, I knew that All The Lovers had to be the first single - it sums up the euphoria of the album perfectly.

"It gives me goosebumps so I'm really excited to hear what everyone thinks of it."

The 12-track album sees her working with Madonna collaborator Stuart Price, who is executive producer. He is also among the songwriters, as well as Scissor Sisters star Jake Shears, Calvin Harris, Nerina Pallot and Tim Rice-Oxley from the band Keane.

Price said: "It's Kylie doing pop dance music at her best. When you look in your mind's eye at everything Kylie is, it's on this record."

Minogue, who has sold more than 60 million records worldwide, was lined up to appear at Ibiza's Pacha nightclub to promote the album.

The former Neighbours star's last album X was released in 2007 - two years after her battle with breast cancer.

She was due to headline Glastonbury festival in 2005 but pulled out after she discovered the illness. This year - at the 40th anniversary of the prestigious music event - she returned to the Pyramid Stage with US disco group Scissor Sisters to perform Any Which Way.
