This year's Grammy Awards was at times more like a weird costume party than a music show: Madonna was dressed as a matador and Pharrell Williams channelled Mickey Mouse and Grand Budapest Hotel.

Yet perhaps the most bizarre attire came from Prince, who seemed to have borrowed the wardrobe of the late Indian Sathya Sai Baba. He appeared on stage, cane in hand, wearing matching orange top and trousers, both with a shine far sparklier than the awards being handed out.

It was an outfit very similar to the Indian guru, Sathya Sai Baba, who was a spiritual leader and philanthropist claiming to be the reincarnation of Sai Baba of Shirdi.

The "Purple Rain" singer was at the Grammys to present the Album of the Year award, which went to Beck for "Morning Phase." Presenting the award, Prince said, "Like books and black lives, albums still matter."

"Weird Al" Yankovic, who won a Grammy for Best Comedy Album said of Prince, "He's the one guy that's always said no to parodies. I'm a big fan of Prince's. If he wants to go bowling or play Parcheesi with me, I'm certainly up for that."
