Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Gossip are performing three UK shows this weekend to mark the 10th anniversary of their album Music for Men, including London's Somserset House as part of the summer series that takes place at the venue each year.

The US band embarked on their first tour in seven years on 4 July in France. They will conclude the string of performances in Dublin in mid-August at Love Sensation festival.

“It’s been wild,” frontwoman Beth Ditto told The Independent. “It feels exactly the same as it did before, all of it.”

In a previous statement announcing the tour, the band said: “We can’t believe it’s been 10 years since the release of Music For Men! We are beyond excited to reunite with our Gossip family and fans.

“We’ve truly missed playing these songs and connecting with our amazing and inspiring crowds. It’ll be a sweaty, outrageous time for sure. Can’t wait to see y’all in Europe in July!”

The remaining Music for Men shows are as follows:

19 July – SWG3 Galvanisers Yard, Glasgow, UK

20 July – Academy, Manchester, UK

21 July – Somerset House, London, UK

18 August – Love Sensation, Dublin, Ireland
