From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Ed Sheeran has handed over his demands for Glastonbury, and they are - unsurprisingly - very straightforward.

Unlike some riders which have become the stuff of legend (we're looking at you, Mariah), the 26-year-old 'Shape of You' singer appears to have kept his requests to a minimum.

Ahead of his Sunday night headline slot, he has apparently asked for what is essentially the tuck shop from your old school and a quick trip to Wholefoods: a bottle of Robinsons fruit squash, six cans of fizzy drink, and a jar of Manuka honey.

Katy Perry's rider reportedly asks that she has freeze-dried strawberries, pitta bread and salsa, with a bottle of Pinot Grigio and one bottle of Sprite.

That may not sound like much, but if it's the same 45-page rider as the one leaked in 2011, she allegedly also wants two cream-coloured egg chairs, a fridge with a glass door, ornate French lamps, someone to wash and cut her fruit and vegetables...

Foo Fighters, Sheeran's fellow Glastonbury headliners, tend to keep in simple: frontman Dave Grohl is said to ask for plenty of fruit and veg, healthy cereal, wheat bread, energy bars and Vitamin Water.

One rather brilliant line in the Foo Fighters' rider reportedly asks for vegetable soups, because "meaty soups make the roadies fart".

Ahead of Sheeran's gig, Radiohead's Ed O'Brien shared some kind words about headlining.

"Ed Sheeran and the Foos will do a great job because it feels like it's all about humility," he said. "To me, the bands who don't do it on that stage or anywhere in Glastonbury are the ones who turn up with their shades on and it's all about them - it's all 'me me me, us us us'.
