From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Frank Ocean fans aren’t happy: the singer promised a new album by the end of July yet nothing has appeared and August has begun.

Every time there’s even a snippet of news about the rumoured Boys Don’t Cry album people lose it, so when Ocean’s younger brother, Ryan Breaux, said that the album had dropped onto iTunes and he had the link in his Instagram bio, everyone got very, very excited.

“It’s finally out! Link in my bio,” reads the caption, put next to the photo of Ocean that started this whole fiasco.

Unfortunately, the iTunes link didn’t go to a new album, it ended up going to the page for the infamous Rick Astley 'Never Gonna Give You Up' music video.

Yes, we all just got ‘Rickrolled’ by Frank Ocean’s younger brother, and yes, everyone is still angry they don’t have a new album yet.

For those who don't spend their lives trawling YouTube comments or Reddit forums being 'Rickrolled' is when someone misleads you into watching Rick Astley's music video. Hilarious, right?

Ocean has been leading on fans for months now, having announced in April that a new album, accompanied by a magazine, would be out in July.

Rumours circulated that the album would be released on the 19th, 21st and 23rd of the month, but we are yet to have any new music.
