From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Juice company Ocean Spray has gifted a truckload of cranberry juice – and the truck itself – to the skateboarder whose video of Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” went viral.

In the widely shared TikTok video, Nathan Apodaca can be seen skateboarding down the street chugging a carton of Ocean Spray juice while listening to the popular Fleetwood Mac hit.

The video’s popularity has led to a resurgence in interest in the 1977 single, even prompting an imitation from Mick Fleetwood himself.

Apodaca, known on TikTok as 420doggface208, posted a video to social media of himself receiving the gift, surrounded by an Ocean Spray film crew.

After Apodaca’s video went viral, it emerged that the social media star lives in a broken RV motor home which did not have running water.

A fundraising effort provided Apodaca with enough money to replace the vehicle and contribute to other expenses, before Ocean Spray stepped in with their own donation.

Since receiving the truck from Ocean Spray, he has recorded a recreation of his original “Dreams” video while driving around, instead of skateboarding.

The original video has accumulated over 25 million views on TikTok, and Apodaca’s account now has more than two million followers.

In the wake of his viral success, “Dreams” re-entered the US Top 40 for the first time in seven years.
