This week, the rapper started trending on the popular social media app after a series of videos highlighted a controversial line from his Rihanna collaboration, “Love the Way You Lie”.
In the 2010 song, Eminem raps:“I know I’m a liar, if she ever tries to f***ing leave again, I’ma tie her to the bed and set this house on fire,” which TikTokers are saying glorifies domestic violence.
‘Yesssss let’s cancel him,” one video states, with another using writing: “No wonder I’m toxic, I grew up listening to this song.”
While many have leapt to the defence of Eminem over the controversy, criticising the Generation Z users who shared the videos, the rapper himself has remained silent – until now.

On Friday (5 March), he shared a new video for his 2020 song “Tone Deaf” and seemingly used the opportunity to criticise the TikTok campaign by highlighting some choice lyrics:
“I won’t stop even when my hair turns grey (I’m tone-deaf) / ‘Cause they won’t stop until they cancel me,” he wrote.
