From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The year's hottest collab-to-be is ever so slowly being put into motion.

It might not be long before we get the dream-song of 2015 and Adele takes on a remixed version of Drake's Hotline Bling. But first, let's get them to compliment each other voraciously just to make sure they'd be a perfect match.

Adele's already had her turn, first propositioning the idea in an interview with e-talk. "I really want to do an official remix. I love Drake. I love Drake so much. I even got the coat that’s in the video, I got it delivered the other day, I ordered it. The red one.”

Now, Drake's responded to the request with equal enthusiasm. "I'd do anything with Adele. I'd literally go to Adele's house right now and do laundry for her."

The rapper's comments were made when he attended the Toronto Raptors' third annual Drake Night, as part of his duty as global ambassador to his hometown's basketball team. The night included a Hotline Bling booth installed outside the Air Canada Centre where fans could enter a light box similar to the one in the video and pull some of their own internet-winning moves.

Drake had previously referenced the potential team-up when he posted to Instagram an art piece by Dave Valeza with the caption: "Me and my main ting just coolin."
