From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Dr. Dre made a surprise appearance on stage with Anderson .Paak at a free show in London last night (13 March).

The iconic rapper and former member of hip-hop collective NWA, whose appearance was caught on camera by excited fans, joined his protégé on stage at the 02 Brixton Academy as he played the Apple Music/Beats-organised show which was announced just last week.

Dre launched into a medley of tracks “Still D.R.E.” and “The Next Episode” - taken from 1999 album 2001 - for his first appearance on a London stage since he joined Eminem at Wembley in 2015.

The rapper was there to “represent” Anderson .Paak who appeared on Dre's 2015 record Compton and joined him on stage at Coachella last year.

“This man here is destined to be a superstar,” Dre told the crowd.

In 2016, Dre's appearance at Coachella saw an NWA reunion as he joined Ice Cube on stage alongside MC Ren and DJ Yella - marking the first appearance of all surviving members in 27 years.
