From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Donald Trump Jr has raved about Kanye West’s new album Jesus Is King, calling the rapper a “pioneer” who’s “cracking the culture code”.

The president’s son tweeted about the album on Monday evening, three days after its release.

“Kanye West is cracking the culture code,” Trump Jr wrote of the rapper, a known Trump supporter.

“@kanyewest’s new album #JesusIsKing is the epitome of fearless creativity and ‘dangerous, unapproved’ ideas.

“Leftists always try to silence those who are speaking truth. They’re waging a war on our family and culture. Kanye is a pioneer.”

West met with Donald Trump a year ago at the White House and has since then continued to affirm his loyalty to the president.

The rapper recently equated his endorsement of Mr Trump to “God’s practical joke to all liberals”.

He has also claimed that black people have been “brainwashed” by Democrats.
