From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

“Animal” singer Conor Maynard will headline As One in the Park festival this summer, what is being billed as “the first credible large-scale gay festival in London for over a decade.”

The Brighton born 20 year old who rose to fame after winning MTV’s Brand New for 2012 Award will join already confirmed headline acts Rylan and Brit nominated Rita Ora.

Katy B, Union J, Skin, Offer Nissim, Boy George & Marc Vedo and Peyton are also confirmed to play.

Holly Johnson will make a special appearance, marking his first London performance in several years. He will play his greatest hits “Love Train” and “Americanos” together with classic Frankie Goes to Hollywood material, including “Welcome to the Pleasuredome”, “Relax” and “The Power of Love”.

As One has been held as an LGBT event in Vauxhall’s Fire since 2010, and now promoter Orange Nation wants to expand the night into a one day festival.

“We felt it was time that London was no longer overlooked when it came to a major gay outdoor entertainment event. We will bring together the cream of London’s gay scene alongside the world’s most internationally renowned gay brands,” said Craig Elder of Orange Nation.

As One in the Park will also feature a presence from cabaret club Madame JoJo’s, lesbian festival L Fest, and gay bar Ku Bar. Further acts and DJs will be announced soon.
