From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Coldplay are to perform at the Royal Albert Hall in London as part of six international tour dates to launch the band’s forthcoming album Ghost Stories.
The tour will visit a number of low-key venues in Germany, the USA, France, Japan and the UK in comparison to their previous stadium arena tour.
The band are due to release their sixth studio album on 19 May, having previewed some of their new songs at the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas.
Critics have said the album’s new tracks mark a departure from the band’s radio-geared, stadium rock anthems, with a return to a more alternative sound.
The new dates follow the band’s high production 2012 Mylo Xyloto tour, featuring video screens, rockets and multi-coloured lights.
Colplay will begin their new string of concerts in Cologne, Germany on 25 April, before finishing at the Royal Albert Hall on 1 July.
The shows are the first to be announced since frontman Chris Martin and his wife Gwyneth Paltrow “consciously uncoupled” last month.
Tickets for the Cologne show will go on sale at 9am CET on Saturday 19 April. Ticket information for the remaining five shows will be emailed exclusively to subscribers to a special Coldplay mailing list.
