From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Forget Ellen's Oscars selfie - Nicki Minaj just posted one of the best photos to come out of Coachella this year.

According to a post on her Instagram, the US rapper spent some time hanging out with Call Me By Your Name star Timothée Chalamet, hip hop artist French Montana, Nav, Belly, The Weeknd... and country pop star Shania Twain.

“@shaniatwain is so dope in real life,” Minaj wrote in the caption, and tagged the others.

Twain has previously mentioned that she was keen to collaborate with Minaj.

“You know who I really love is Nicki Minaj,” she said at an album listening party last year. “I love her. She’s just so raw and vicious and amazing.”

Meanwhile Chalamet is a well-known, avid hip hop fan, and was interviewed last year by none other than Frank Ocean, for V Man.

Fans were clearly delighted by the photo, albeit a little confused:

Also at Coachella, Beyonce blew everyone away with a jaw-dropping, history-making headline show, which you can read about here.
