From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

OutKast, Muse and indie troupe Arcade Fire have been announced as the headliners for Coachella music festival in April.

Now in its 16th year, the two-weekend extravaganza will see the likes of Ellie Goulding, Lorde, Queens of the Stone Age and Bastille join Pharrell Williams, Skrillex, Calvin Harris and Rudimental on stage in California.

Grammy Award-winning hip-hop duo OutKast are reuniting for the popular US festival, following in the footsteps of past Coachella reformers Iggy and the Stooges, Pixies and Portishead.

The 90s MCs last released an album in 2006, Idlewild, and have been working on separate projects since. Big Boi has worked as a producer on Modest Mouse’s next album and released two critically-acclaimed LPs, while Andre 3000 has collaborated with Frank Ocean and Beyoncé.

OutKast’s reunion at Coachella will mark the 20th anniversary of their debut album, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, hitting shelves in X in 1994.

Coachella organisers announced the news on Twitter, posting a picture of the line-up with the caption "Share it like a polaroid picture!" in a nod to OutKast's hit "Hey Ya".

Dance fans will be particularly pleased with the eclectic bill, with Flume, Martin Garrix, Alesso and Disclosure also booked to appear.

Coachella takes place on the weekends of 11-13 and 18-20 April in the desert city of Indio, with the same line-up performing on both dates.

Last year's festival was headlined by Blur, The Stone Roses, Phoenix and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Tickets for Coachella go on sale on 10 January at coachella.com.
