James Corden invited Christina Aguilera to carpool with him, and of course they had to do a spot of karaoke along the way.

In the latest episode, the Late Late Show host and the "Dirrty" singer belted out genre-defining anthems from the early noughties including "Beautiful", "Fighter" and "Genie In A Bottle"... with a surprise appearance from comedian and actress Melissa McCarthy.

While Corden is often praised by fans for sort-of holding his own with many of his guests who join him for a singalong, he was utterly out-done by Aguilera, who used the opportunity to show off her incredible vocal prowess.

Corden also grilled the 37-year-old about her time in Disney's Mickey Mouse Club with Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and Ryan Gosling.

Admitting she wasn't as enamoured by Gosling as others in the group, Aguilera went onto suggest she may have had a crush on Timberlake - suggesting there was a bit of a love triangle between herself, Timberlake, and Spears.

"He [Timberlake] had swag, I have to say," she said. "Even back then, he had swag."

"There was me and Britney - well now, you know - there was a thing back then," she said, before turning to Corden and exclaiming: "Oh my god, you're going in!"

Aguilera and McCarthy are set to appear together in the upcoming college campus comedy Life of the Party, which is out in May.
