From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Childish Gambino has been forced to postpone his remaining US tour dates to recover from a reported foot injury.

According to the promoter LiveNation, the artist's 'This Is America' tour will continue on 2 December in Nashville, Tennessee, with tickets for the rescheduled shows being honoured for new dates apart from the Seattle date, which has been cancelled due to "venue renovations".

The injury also means Gambino, whose real name is Donald Glover, has to cancel his headline appearance at the Austin City Limits music festival in October. He will still perform at the Voodoo Music and Arts Experience in New Orleans on 27 October, according to the Seattle Times.

Fam Rothstein of Wolf + Rothstein, the creative collective that manages Gambino, tweeted on 25 September: "This is America tour is postponed, not cancelled. My guy played through the pain, but has to sit some dates out. Back before the year's over."

Gambino has said his 'This Is America' tour will be the last from his creative alter-ego. The show has received critical acclaim for its lights and artwork, and for Gambino's performance.
