Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington has died aged 41, his bandmate Mike Shinoda has confirmed.

The singer reportedly took his own life, although this has yet to be confirmed by an official.

He is said to have been discovered inside his home in California at the Palos Verdes Estate in Los Angeles.

Linkin Park were on their One More Light world tour, which was next scheduled to stop at the Xfinity Centre on 27 July in Mansfield, Massachusetts.

A spokewoman for the Palos Verdes Estates police declined to answer questions about whether Bennington was the person found dead on the property, but confirmed there had been a death on his block on the morning of 20 July.

Bennington had six children from two marriages. News of his death emerged on what would have been his late friend Chris Cornell's 53rd birthday, who took his own life in May 2017.
