From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Cardi B is the latest artist to appear on James Corden's Carpool Karaoke.

After performing a segment of her hit song "Bodak Yellow", the 26-year-old rapper was taken for a driving lesson after it was revealed she could not drive, despite owning a luxury fleet that includes a Bentley, Maybach and two Lamborghinis.

"Here's my biggest question... you can't drive," Corden said, "so what's the point of having the cars?"

"To take pictures with," Cardi responded, laughing.

Corden then took her for a driving test, which ended in chaos as the rapper managed to knock over most of the cones (and a camera) laid out in a carpark.

After a few more renditions of some of her most popular tracks, Cardi revealed she wasn't used to playing for an older audience, so Corden took her to a retirement home.

One resident called Gunter seemed particularly enamoured with her and asked if she was "available". "I, I... sure!" a slightly taken aback Cardi, who recently split from her husband Offset, said.

Cardi B was recently nominated for a number of Grammy awards, including for best rap album, rap performance, record of the year and album of the year, for her album Invasion of Privacy along with the singles "I Like It" and "Be Careful".

Her debut Invasion of Privacy was also named as one of The Independent's albums of the year, with praise for the rapper running "to her own rhythm" and for establishing herself beyond the viral hit of her song "Bodak Yellow".
