Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Brockhampton have parted ways with founding member Ameer Vann following multiple accusations of misconduct against the rapper, the sexual ones of which he denies.
“Ameer is no longer in BROCKHAMPTON,” the band said in a Twitter statement. “We want to sincerely apologize to the victims affected by Ameer’s actions. We were lied to, and we’re sorry for not speaking up sooner.
"We do not tolerate abuse of any kind. This is not a solution to their suffering, but we hope this is a step in the right direction.
"We are going to cancel the remaining dates of our current US tour to go home and regroup."
BROCKHAMPTON's new album Puppy was due for release in June but has now been pushed back.
The band played without Vann at Boston Calling festival at the weekend and, as seen in the video below, stood in silence during the parts of songs were Vann's verses would have been.
Vann previously admitted having been "unkind" to others but insisted he had never done anything criminal.
“In response to the claims of emotional and sexual abuse: although my behavior has been selfish, childish, and unkind, I have never criminally harmed anyone or disrespected their boundaries,” he tweeted. “I have never had relations with a minor or violated anybody's consent.”
