Your support makes all the difference.Britney Spears’ boyfriend has called the singer’s father a “a total d***” in the wake of a controversial new documentary about the pop star.
Sam Asghari shared his thoughts in an Instagram story that reads: “Now it’s important for people to understand that I have zero respect for someone trying to control our relationship and constantly throwing obstacles our way.
“In my opinion Jamie [Spears] is a total d***,” wrote the personal trainer.
“I won’t be going into details because I've always respected our privacy but at the same time I didn't come to this country to not be able to express my opinion and freedom.”
The comments come only hours after Asghari spoke out for the first time since the US broadcast of Framing Britney Spears on Saturday (6 February).
Framing Britney Spears examines the “Baby One More Time” star’s career and the #FreeBritney movement that campaigns against her ongoing conservatorship.
The documentary, which has been branded “heartbreaking” by viewers, explores the pop star’s ongoing battle with her father, Jamie Spears, over the control that the conservatorship gives him from her business decisions to her family.
Spears, who was placed under a conservatorship following public breakdowns in 2008, has been dating Asghari since 2016.
