Both BMTH’s Sempiternal and the upcoming A Head Full Of Dreams feature a geometric shape called the ‘flower of life’. It should be noted that Coldplay's features numerous rainbow colours while Horizon's is only black and gold.
Frontman Oli Sykes has since accused Coldplay of "jackin our steez” on Twitter, telling NME in a recent interview: “If you google 'flower of life' the first thing that comes up is Bring Me The Horizon - Sempiternal, it's like, if you Google the images, someone's gonna have said something to them.”
We decided to test his theory out, and Googled ‘flower of life’.
Neither in web search nor in images did their artwork appear, instead we learnt a lot about the symbol which may date back as far as 4,000 BC, yet this is hotly debated by historians.
Sykes did admit, however, that “It's not ours, it's kind of cool really, it's a cool thing that a band that big are also gonna be sharing that with people.”
Coldplay’s upcoming album A Head Full Of Dreams, featuring artists Beyoncé, Noel Gallagher and Tove Lo, will be released 4 December, while Bring Me the Horizon’s Sempiternal was released in 2013.
