Thom Yorke has led a wave of blistering celebrity reactions to Boris Johnson’s premiership, with a tweet that gets to the point rather succinctly.
Along with quote-tweeting a historic letter from one of Johnson’s teachers at Eton College, condemning the then 18 year-old Johnson on his behaviour as a student, Yorke wrote: “F*** you Prime Minister”.
Others have responded to today’s news with similar anger and frustration. Stormzy retweeted a message suggesting his “F*** Boris” lyric in single ‘Vossi Bop’ “sums today up well”, while Nigella Lawson simply tweeted an emoji of a woman holding her head in her hands.
Rapper Slowthai condemned Johnson as “an incompetent t***”, while Derry Girls actress Nicola Coughlan wrote, “Boris is a wasteman”.
Earlier today Boris Johnson became Prime Minister of the United Kingdom after winning the Conservative leadership race, in a landslide that saw him earn 92,153 votes against 46,656 cast for rival Jeremy Hunt.
