From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. It's been just over two and half years since Arcade Fire released their latest studio album and they've now hinted at when fans can expect their new one.

Band member Will Butler has narrowed down the release date to next spring.

Speaking in a Reddit AMA, Butler - who is the brother of the Candian band's lead singer, Win - said that while there was no "definite schedule," the record will "probably" be released spring 2017.

The musician added that the album will "be done when it's done."

Butler has been promoting his new live record Friday Night. It follows his debut solo effort Policy which was released last year.

Arcade Fire's previous albums include Funeral, Neon Bible, The Suburbs and 2013's Reflektor which included the tracks "We Exist" and "Here Comes the Night Time."

The band headlined Glastonbury in 2015 and will return to the circuit this summer performing at European festivals Bilbao BBK and NOS Alive.
