Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Bar a semi-reluctant Outkast tour and several guest spots, we haven’t had a proper release from Andre 3000 for some time now.

This could be set to change though, with Chris Rock tweeting last night: “Me , Dave , D-nice , jack white and jarobi hard at work on the new Andre 3000 album” (sic).

It could be a joke, what with him being a comedian and all, but it wouldn’t be that random for Rock to be in the studio, having previously contributed that infamous ‘Yeezy taught me’ skit on Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album.

The hip hop community is craving a new album from 3 Stacks perhaps even more than one from Frank Ocean, and the signs are good given he’s been musically active lately, appearing on Kanye’s track '30 Hours’ and Erykah Badu’s ‘Hello’.

The group pictured in the Instagram post had gathered beforehand for a Phife Dawg tribute.

Here’s a couple more pictures Jacobi White posted of them hanging out in the studio.
