From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Bon Iver have been announced as the latest act to headline All Points East festival in 2019.

Justin Vernon's band will perform their biggest ever headline show to date at the event in Victoria Park, London, in what is sure to be a visually mesmerising and immersive set.

Bon Iver's most recent album, 2016's 22, A Million received critical acclaim and saw the band take up an eight-night residency at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith.

Also announced to perform is Canadian artist Mac DeMarco, Swedish band First Aid Kit, American singer-songwriter John Grant, and Congolese collective KOKOKO!, who fuse electronic music with traditional African and Arabic sounds with self-designed string and percussion instruments. Julian Baker, The Tallest Man on Earth, and Snail Mail will also perform at the festival.

All Points East recently announced the Chemical Brothers as its first headline artist, who will perform on Friday 24 May 2019.

Its inaugural year took place in 2017, with appearances from acts such as Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, The National, LCD Soundsystem, Bjork and The xx.

Tickets for next year's festival go on sale on Friday 16 November at 9am.
