From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. As reported by Capital FM, the British singer was in attendance at a party hosted by Kaluuya, who won the Best Supporting Actor award at the ceremony on Sunday night (25 April) for his role in Shaka King’s Judas and the Black Messiah.
In a video posted on Instagram by @Curly_Bartender (the party’s caterers), Adele can be seen with a large group of friends, singing along to the 2002 hit song “I’m Real” by Jennifer Lopez and Ja Rule.
Kaluuya’s Judas and the Black Messiah co-star Amber Chardae Robinson shared a photo of the pair together at the party.
Kaluuya’s win over the weekend made him the first Black British actor to take home an Academy Award for acting. You can read The Independent’s four-star review of the film here.
Earlier this year Alan Carr gave fans an update on Adele’s highly anticipated new album, which will follow after her 2015 record 25.
“I’ve actually heard some tracks on it [and] oh my god, it’s so amazing,” said Carr.
A release date for the album has not yet been announced.
