From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Adele made a superfan’s day after sending him a personal message on Instagram.
Colyn Elliott, who runs a fan account for the “Someone Like You” artist, revealed that Adele herself replied to one of his Instagram Story posts last week.
The post asked for music and added: “We all miss you so much.”
Elliott was then stunned with Adele responded in a direct message: “Your twitter account has entertained me all the way through Covid.
“You look like so much fun! I’m absolutely chuffed you like my music. Keep loving your life, it’s so lovely and infectious to see from every angle.”
Elliott shared the post from his Twitter account, writing: “ADELE JUST DM’D ME ON TWITTER. ALL THROUGH COVID?!?!?!?! OMG. IM BAWLING MY EYES OUT.”
He added a disclaimer that he hoped Adele was happy for him to share the message, as he wanted to tell all his friends.
Adele often uses her social media accounts to interact with fans. She recently responded to another fan in the comments section of a photo, as they asked where her new album is.
“I honestly have no idea,” Adele replied.
She was somewhat shorter with another who claimed an album would drop on a day in June, writing: “Of course it’s not. Corona ain’t over. I’m quarantining. Wear a mask and be patient.”
Adele released her last album, the Grammy Award-winning 25, in 2015.
