Adele dedicates award to 'all the other females doing this' at the Grammy Awards 2013
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Receiving the gong for "Set Fire to the Rain [live]" from her “good luck charm” J-Lo, the singer sent “a big love to all the other girls and all us females doing this, cause we work so hard, we make it look so easy”.
Adele, who scooped a record haul of six Grammys at last year’s awards, is set to perform "Skyfall" at the 2013 Oscars on 24 February, where she is hotly tipped to win the original score gong for her 007 theme.
Having stormed the Billboard charts last year it was no surprise that British folk-rock band Mumford & Sons scooped album of the year for their second LP Babel.
Marcus Mumford, who collected his award from Adele, said: “We figured we weren’t going to win anything because The Black Keys have been sweeping up all day, rightfully so.”
The band also won best long form music video for "Big Easy Express".
British icons Sir Elton John, Paul McCartney and Sting were also there.
No stranger to Grammy awards, Sir Elton dedicated his performance to the victims of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting last December.
Former Police frontman Sting also took to the stage to pay tribute to reggae star Bob Marley, and collaborated with American singer Bruno Mars performing their hits "Locked Out Of Heaven" and "Walking On The Moon" together.
Paul McCartney won his 15th Grammy, taking home best traditional pop vocal album for Kisses On The Bottom. It was his first solo album to win the top honour in its category.
Another top winner on the night was Belgian-Australian Gotye who picked up record of the year for "Somebody That I Used to Know", which features Kimbra.
Emerging American indie-pop act Fun scooped up two Grammys for new artist and song of the year.
Later in the ceremony Adele and fellow Brit Ed Sheeran were later pictured giving glaring looks to Chris Brown when he failed to give Frank Ocean a standing ovation.
Rapper Brown was accompanying his girlfriend Rihanna to the awards four years after the pair missed the ceremony after he assaulted her.
Brown and Ocean were recently involved in a brawl outside a recording studio.
