From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Adele celebrated her 30th birthday in style with a Titanic-themed party attended by a number of film, music and TV stars, apparently including Childish Gambino who appeared to perform on the night.

The "Hello" singer, who admitted her "super fandom" of the movie starring Kate Winslet, dressed up as the character Rose and was a spot-on likeness in photos she shared on her Instagram account.

"Dirty 30! I'm not sure what I'm going to do for the next 30 years as I've been blessed beyond words in my life so far," she wrote in the post.

"Thank you to everyone for coming along for the ride the last 11 years with me. My family and friends for entertaining my super fandom of the Titanic movie. Last night was the best night of my life."

She added: "Childish Gambino how the hell do you have time to offer us so much greatness on so many platforms. I adore you."

One of Adele's photos showed her stood at the top of an elaborate set of wooden stairs, reminiscent of the moment Jack sees Rose before dinner in the film. Another showed her dancing with attendees wearing life jackets, which they reportedly got to take home as souvenirs.

Guests also posted photos from the night: Mark Ronson tweeted a photo of himself outside with fake ice in his hair and eyebrows.

While Beats 1 host Zane Lowe looked iceberg cool:

Adele hinted she was feeling a little rough the next day, commenting: "I'm absolutely f**ked, not sure I'll make it out the house again!"
