Rapper 50 Cent has been charged with attacking his ex-girlfriend, believed to be the mother of his baby, and trashing her Los Angeles home.
The 37-year-old musician and actor, real name Curtis Jackson, was charged with domestic violence and four counts of vandalism.
The rapper had allegedly already left when officers were called on 23 June to an apartment in LA belonging to a woman who had a baby with him, police said.
If convicted, 50 Cent faces up to five years in jail and $46,000 (£30,200) in fines.
The woman told police that 50 Cent began destroying her property before she locked herself into her bedroom. She said he then knocked down the bedroom door and kicked her, causing injury.
Police released a statement estimating that around $7,100 worth of damage had been done to the woman's home. They described the apartment as “ransacked” and covered in clothes, with many broken items including chandeliers, furniture and a television.
The woman told police she had been in a three-year relationship with 50 Cent.
The rapper, who references drug dealing and violence in many of his songs, is known for having survived nine gunshots in an attempted assassination.
He starred in an autobiographical account of his life as a drug dealer in Get Rich Or Die Tryin' . He also appeared in Escape Plan alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone and Vinnie Jones, which is out later this year.
50 Cent will appear in court on July 22.
