Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

A motley collection of videos out this week includes clips from The Flaming Lips, LCD Soundsystem, Hanson, and Snoop Doog. Also: the next installment in Lil' Wayne's pre-prison filming frenzy, plus clips from Morning Benders, Jamie Cullum, and Deftones.

Hanson: "Thinking 'Bout Somethin'"
This video for Hanson's single from Shout it Out re-creates the Ray Charles/3Shake a Tail Feather" scene from The Blues Brothers. Look for Weird Al Yankovic on tambourine.

Snoop Dogg featuring Kid Cudi: "That Tree"

"That Tree" finds Snoop Dogg and Kid Cudi romping around in a fake 2D setting, interacting with set pieces and local fauna. The track is featured on More Malice, a re-release of Malice n Wonderland.

Flaming Lips: "Powerless"
This bizarre video featuring a monkey and a girl tied to a chair accompanies the equally psychedelic six-minute song "Powerless," off The Flaming Lips' upcoming album Embryonic.

Morning Benders: "Promises"
From the California indie band's recently released second album, Big Echo, this clip follows two kids as they smoke, drink, rob, and kidnap, all the way to a grim ending.
