Music & Me: The Shoes
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Guillaume from Gallic duo The Shoes takes time out from the band’s January tour to answer a few questions for Music Magazine.

Prince – the Batman soundtrack.
The first gig I went to was...
A Michael Jackson lookalike during summer holidays with my parents. It was brilliant. (laughs)

But my parents always liked...
My parents have got very good taste.
I couldn’t marry someone who liked...
Muse.
On stage I like to wear...
Sunglasses, loafers or Chelsea boots.
I’d love to perform with...
Janelle Monae, she's special...
One thing that must change in the music industry is...
The price of the records!
A great album cover is...
Pink Floyd – Dark Side of the Moon, even if it’s not my favourite Floyd album.
On my iPod I listen most to...
French rap.
If I could have written any song it would have been...
"My way", because it’s the most covered song ever!
The worst song I’ve heard is...
I’m sure it’s one of mine.
The Shoes release their debut album Crack My Bones in March. The second single from the album, "Wastin' Time" (Southern Fried Records) is out on 21 February.
