Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Synth-pop trio Cut Copy began in 2001 as a project of Melbourne-bred DJ and graphic designer Dan Whitford. Bloggers are circulating a new track called "Take Me Over" from the band's upcoming and third album, Zonoscope, due out February 8. "With dreamy electronica production and sublime, hook-filled pop songcraft, it seems the sky is not the limit for Cut Copy," reviews blogger MuuMuse (www.muumuse.com), "they're too busy exploring the stars."
Colorado-based husband and wife Patrick Riley and Alaina Moore, known as Tennis, are a hot topic in the blogs after the January 18 release of their debut LP, Cape Dory, a concept album based on their eight-month sailing trip on the Atlantic Ocean. "With their breezy vocals and jangly percussions," writes music blogger Indie Rock Cafe (www.indierockcafe.com), "Tennis seems to have made themselves forerunners of setting the tone for the indie beach sound of 2011."
