From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Swedish artist Robyn is the hottest topic in the music blogs on November 30 after the release of the final installment of her Body Talk trilogy. According to The Hype Machine, Destroyer, fronted by musician Dan Bejar of The New Pornographers, takes second place, while Atlas Sound, the solo music project of Deerhunter's Bradford Cox, is in third. Also in the day's top ten: Kanye West and Marina and the Diamonds.

Ever popular in the blogs, West remains a hot topic after the November 22 release of his much anticipated fifth studio album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Among a slew of tracks being swapped and reviewed, bloggers are circulating a new track titled "That's My Bitch" with rapper Jay-Z and featuring La Roux's Elly Jackson. "With a late 80s-early 90s beat reminiscent of the Jungle Brothers, hearing Jay and Kanye trade verses with Elly on the hook is nothing short of bliss," writes The Boy with the Thorn in His Side (www.billysuede.com).

Marina and the Diamonds (real name Marina Lambrini Diamandis) is a Welsh singer-songwriter who rose to fame after reaching number two on the BBC Sound of 2010 poll. She is back in the day's top ten after oOoOO (pronounced "oh"), a San Francisco-based project fronted by musician Christopher Greenspan, released a remix of her track "Obsessions." He transforms the song "from the usually operatic and melodrama-filled Marina Diamandis ... into a realm clouded and opaque," writes The Culture of Me (thecultureofme.com). "It really, really works."
