From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. American instrumental psych band Woodsman is a hot topic in the music blogosphere after releasing a new track from upcoming EP Mystic Places. Also returning to The Hype Machine's most blogged artists chart on August 24 is Los Angeles-based ethereal vocalist Glasser.

Known for its moody psychedelic sound, Denver, Colorado-based Woodsman is dropping a new EP on October 25, and in recent days the band has released a single dubbed "In Circles." "While skillfully avoiding the trap of self-indulgence and overcooked noodling" ( The Mad Mackerel), the new track is a "slow building, zoned-out chugger" ( Bowlegs Music).

Glasser, the solo project of singer Cameron Mesirow, is back in the blogs with a fresh remix of a track called "Treasury of We" from her debut album, Ring, by Spanish alternative band Delorean. Blogger Abeano writes that the new tune is a "jam-packed euphoric club track that could be a new, original song from either act."
