Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Cloud Nothings, the moniker of 19-year-old Dylan Baldi who reportedly records music on his own but tours with a live band, just released a new track titled "Understand It All" from the self-titled debut LP releasing January 25. "The band started only a year ago with Baldi making lo-fi rock out of his parents' basement outside of Cleveland," writes Modern Mystery (modernmysteryblog.com). "In the past year Cloud Nothings has released an EP, singles and made their way on [a US] tour coast to coast."
Swedish pop band Acid House Kings was founded in 1991 by brothers Johan and Niklas Angergård and Niklas' sister-in-law Julia Lannerheim. The band released a new single titled "Are We Lovers or Are We Friends?" from their forthcoming fifth album, Music Sounds Better with You, out on March 22. "Almost six years since the release of the highly acclaimed Sing Along with Acid House King album, Sweden's pop perfectionists no. 1 are ready to release new material," writes The Pop!
