Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Rapper Kanye West was last in the blogs in late May following the leak of "Power," the first single from his forthcoming not-yet-titled album. Bloggers are now sharing West's track "See Me Now," featuring Beyoncé and Charlie Wilson, which West debuted during an appearance on a US radio show and later posted on his blog. The track is getting mixed reviews in the blogosphere, with many agreeing it is a return to West's College Dropout-era sound, and nearly all highly anticipating the album release on November 16. On August 13 West is set to share another track, this one a remix of "Power" featuring Jay-Z.
Gold Panda is a UK-native producer and remixer named Derwin who has released several EPs and is reportedly planning a debut full-length album by year's end. Ghostly International recently released his EP You, tracks from which are currently making their way around the blogosphere. Released even more recently is a remix of "You" by Seams that RCRD LBL (rcrdlbl.com) says "sounds like a catamaran ride with Massive Attack."
