Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Rapper Kanye West and ceo, the solo project of The Tough Alliance's Eric Berglund, are in second and third.
Ceo first came to public attention in April, when Swedish pop band jj recorded a track to celebrate ceo on the acts' Swedish label Sincerely Yours. That label has now announced that Berglund will release his debut album, White Magic, at the end of June, also sharing the album's lead single "Come With Me." Kickin the Peanuts (kickinthepeanuts.com) writes that the track "is sounding a lot like the Tough Alliance, which is only a good thing - it's a rollicking, Swedish indie-pop tune."
Also holding a top spot in the blogosphere is Mercury Prize-winning band Klaxons, which released its breakthrough album Myth of the Near Future three years ago. The British dance-punk act is reportedly preparing the release of a second album, Surfing the Void, and has shared the track "Flashover" from that album. This Music Wins writes, "If the chaotic side of the band is what you're after, then they've excelled and expanded, but if you were hoping that...they'd been honing a revolutionary new sound - then you're likely to be disappointed."
