Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

For the ultimate collector, a deluxe 43-CD package, The Genius of Miles Davis, presents a comprehensive collection of music from the legendary jazz artist Miles Davis, to be released October 26 and not available through regular retail.

Eight box sets document 384 recordings covering the artist's body of work recorded for Columbia Records between 1955-1985. Each set features music reflecting each of the musical icon's movements - with John Coltrane, Gil Evans, Jack Johnson sessions as well as the Miles Davis Quintet.

A full-size Martin trumpet case contains the CDs, plus previously unreleased and remastered music. Other items in the custom-designed Grammy award-winning package include an exact replica of the musician's Gustat Heim trumpet mouthpiece, a never-before-released art lithograph by the "Picasso of Jazz," essays, rare images, and an exclusive T-shirt.

The limited edition of 1,955 copies of The Genius of Miles Davis is priced at $749 for advance orders.

Also released earlier this year:

Bitches Brew (Legacy Edition)
A 40th anniversary edition of Bitches Brew, Miles Davis' first gold album, featuring four discs, vinyl pressings, live material, a DVD of a 1969 Copenhagen performance, 48-page book, and poster.

The Complete Columbia Album Collection
This retrospective of the music Miles Davis recorded over 30 years with Columbia Records contains 70 CDs and 1 DVD. Packaged in Japanese-styled mini-jackets with a 250-page book.

The Genius of Miles Davis, The Columbia Years Fine Art Print Box Set
To accompany the collection, from ICON-Collectibles, ten silver gelatin black and white images of Miles, ranging from 1956 to 1969, with Billie Holiday and John Coltrane, on stage and off. The limited edition of 25 sets are signed and numbered by photographer Don Hunstein and presented in a leather-bound box.
