Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Multi-platinum American singer/musician/songwriter Jewel is set to release her second country-inspired album, Sweet and Wild, on June 8, according to an April 8 announcement. The artist has planned a 20-city US tour in support of the album, with tickets set to go on sale beginning April 23.
Jewel's first country album, Perfectly Clear, was released in June 2008 and debuted at #1 on the US Billboard country chart and #8 on the Billboard 200. That album was followed in 2009 by Lullaby, the artist's first-ever independent release. The singer's new album, Sweet and Wild, includes the single "Stay Here Forever," which was previously released as part of the soundtrack for the film Valentine's Day.
The "Star Light Café" Tour in support of Sweet and Wild begins on June 11 in Atlanta and ends June 27 in Seattle. Singer-songwriter Radney Foster will open for the artist, and the June 21 performance will be a co-headlining show with Brandi Carlile.
