Your support makes all the difference.Tracks from Arcade Fire's new album The Suburbs hold nine out of ten spots on the singles chart at Last.fm, the internet radio station that lets users in more than 200 countries listen to music in the site's library. The album's title track has taken over the chart's number one spot for the week of August 1 through 8 - a distinction that has been held by Lady Gaga for more than six months.
Arcade Fire released third full-length album The Suburbs on August 2 in most of Europe and a day later in North America. The LP took some spots on the Last.fm chart a week prior to its release, as fans streamed the album online and listened to some already-released tracks. Now that the album is for sale internationally, it accounts for nine of the ten most popular tracks of the week among Last.fm users, with "The Suburbs," "Ready to Start," and "Modern Man" taking the lead.
Lady Gaga's latest single "Alejandro" is pushed into seventh place after spending several weeks in the top slot; that track took the lead in late June, replacing Gaga's previous top track "Bad Romance."

Available in 12 languages, the site's radio service is free for users in the UK, the US, and Germany; elsewhere, a subscription costs €3.00 per month. Using a system called "scrobbling," Last.fm's charts measure everything its users listen to through the Last.fm website as well as hundreds of other music sites and services, including iTunes, Spotify, and The Hype Machine.
